The Upper St. Clair Swimming and Diving team hosted Montour on Wednesday night. Both the boys and girls swimming and diving teams defeated the Spartans moving the boys raised record to 6-3, while the girls moved to 2-7. The highlight of the meet was recognizing all of our Seniors at our Senior Recognition night, the last home meet of the season. The Senior swimmers and divers include Maren Davis, Hasan Alhajhusain, Brady Bernard, Armen Pettit, Hunter Talai, Liam Tomb, Griffin Tomsheck and Kobi Yuyi. Congratulations to Sophomore diver Carter Wells. His winning score of 296.40 established a new pool and school record. What an accomplishment! We’d also like to congratulate Freshman swimmer Maddie Dow for achieving her first WPIAL Championship qualifying time in the 500 freestyle. Additional outstanding performances include Griffin Tomsheck achieving the WPIAL “Sweep” (qualifying for the WPIAL Championships in every swimming event) by virtue of his achieving the QTs in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.  Event winners for the meet were: Girls 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays, Maren Davis – 50 free, Delaney Burnette – Diving (personal best score of 273.25), Gaja Kopera – 100 free and 100 back, and Maddie Dow – 100 breast.
