Upper St. Clair Golfers Conner McKenzie and Neil Joon both advanced to the Boys WPIAL Golf Championship Round after both players carded an 80 in todays WPIAL First Round at Champion Lakes Golf Course. The top 36 players and ties advanced to the Championship Round and McKenzie and Joon each tied at 19th. The WPIAL Championship Round will be played at Allegheny Country Club on October 6th.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Golf team tee'd off today in the Individual Section Qualifiers at Hickory Heights with an opportunity to advance to the WPIAL semi-final tournament. The target score players had to shoot to advance was 81 and with Niel Joon's 78, Connor McKenzie's 79, and Ian Kirk's 81 they all advanced to the WPIAL semi-finals. The players will continue their goal for WPIAL Gold on September 27th at Champion Lakes Golf Course.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Golf team competed in the WPIAL Class 3A Team Semifinals today at Beaver Valley Golf Club. The Panthers, as a team, finished in 3rd place out of 10 teams and have advanced to the WPIAL Team Championship. Neil Joon led the Panthers as he fired a 73, Connor McKenzie and Johnny McShane followed him as they each shot 80, PJ Tanner contributed with his 81, and Ian Kirk and Kyle Kerber rounded out the group each with 85s. The Panthers will now compete with Central Catholic, Plum, Mars, Moon, and Peters Township to determine the Class 3A WPIAL Team Champion. The final round will take place at Cedarbrook Golf Club on Thursday. The tee time is scheduled for 10:00 AM.

Upper St. Clair Golfer Neil Joon has qualified for the PIAA State Golf Tournament after his performance at the WPIAL Championships held at Allegheny Country Club. Joon fired an 80 in his first round of the tournament, and a 79 today, for a T13 finish and a bid to the PIAA Tournament. Joon will travel to Penn State for the two rounds of the PIAA Championship which are held on October 17th and 18th.
