USC Boys Soccer Falls in PK’s to Norwin

The Upper St. Clair Boys Soccer team traveled to East Allegheny High School on Thursday to square off with top-seeded Norwin in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. The Panthers were up to the challenge, playing the Knights tough, but saw themselves trailing 1-0 at the half. In the second half the team continued to battle and in the 61st minute, Rafael Sarlas found the back of the net to tie the game at 1. With no goals coming in the remainder of regulation or in the two overtime periods, the game headed to PK’s. Sarlas and Canaan Kerestesi each scored on their attempts, but Norwin went 4-4 on their tries and took home a 2-1 victory over the Panthers. The loss finalizes Upper St. Clair’s season with a 7-6-5 record and as WPIAL Quarterfinalists. Congratulations to all members of the team on a great season!
